The work of Bastien Soleil is a silent song, an inner voyage suspended between light and depth. 

 

Each creation is made exclusively while freediving, on a single breath, in natural environments, using only daylight, at depths of up to twenty meters.

 

His images involve no retouching, no digital artifice, and no use of artificial intelligence. This choice is not a technical constraint but a profound conviction: that authentic beauty, when captured with precision and patience, is complete in itself. In keeping with this pursuit of authenticity and uniqueness, since 2025 his works have existed only as single, one-of-a-kind pieces.

 

Beneath the apparent lightness of these images lies exceptional artistic rigor and uncompromising visual discipline. Each work is carefully conceived and prepared months in advance, like a living stage, the embodiment of a vision.

 

The models, professional dancers, most of them discovering the art of movement underwater for the first time, are selected, trained, and guided by Bastien himself in freediving, enabling them to bring his compositions to life in a rare state of presence: a moment of grace suspended in eternity. This meticulous process gives rise to a choreography in which every gesture, every glimmer of light, every shadow and half-tone carries profound meaning.

 

Inspired by foundational myths, universal archetypes, and his own spiritual journey, Bastien Soleil reveals water in all its complexity and poetry. His works speak of transformation, liberation, and resilience. The bodies become symbols, reflections of our inner states of being.
